Dr. Helena Lam
MD
Helena Lam MD is a board-certified oculofacial plastic surgeon who brings together the precision of advanced surgical training with a thoughtful, artistic eye. She completed highly competitive fellowships through the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery (ABFCS) and holds board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO).
With a focus on both function and aesthetics, Dr. Lam treats a wide range of adult and pediatric patients with concerns involving the eyelids, brows, tear ducts, and orbit. She offers a full spectrum of treatments—from complex reconstructive procedures to in-office facial rejuvenation—tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
Dr. Lam earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, followed by an internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota. She went on to complete fellowship training in San Antonio and further specialized training in Seoul, Korea, performing over 6,500 primary procedures throughout her education. An active researcher and speaker, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented at more than 20 local and national meetings on topics ranging from orbital tumors to brow lifts.
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Lam is passionate about mentorship and community service. She’s an advocate for medical diversity initiatives such as VISION/MOMS and SNMA and has participated in more than 25 service projects across the U.S. and abroad.
She speaks English and Vietnamese fluently. When she’s not in clinic or the OR, you’ll likely find her exploring a new hiking trail, hunting down great food, or dabbling in language and music. Dr. Lam is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
